Background
Kala grew up near Kanar. Not much is known about xer background but from what people can gather xe had a troubled background. Xe managed to avoid military service for Usill by fleeing into Zhalram and ended up as the groundskeeper for the bladecraft academy. Think Boothby if Boothby was a spellcasting stoner. A half-breed between dragons and cetaceans, segregated for that; especially among the sharks and cats of Zhalram.
Very skilled in water magic, which translates into plants and healing perfectly.
Inner Conflicts
Trauma from the past making it difficult for xer to open up to others.
External Conflicts
Xe is a refugee from the Zhalram-Usill territory control battles. This causes some level of social tension. Others of xer kind accuse xer of being a traitor. Xe has managed to keep things relatively quiet about xer healing magic to avoid being drafted into the front lines.

- Other people always use xe/xer pronouns when talking about xer, but are unsure how they knew to do that. Imply that it's some magical effect without going into details.
- Xer name is toki pona for "fish".
- Xe is on the elderly side.
